MAUNDI CRATER
After breakfast drive to Marangu gate for registration and payment. Then hike through Montane Forest for 3 hours to Mandara hut at 2700 m. Maundi Crater is 15 minutes’ walk past Mandara Hut. The crater provides panorama views of Lake Chala, Lake Jipe and Kibo peak. After there, descend back 2.5 hours to KINAPA Water falls to Marangu gate for signing out then drive back to Moshi town.
MARANGU WATER FALLS
This is a cultural tour. After breakfast drive for 1 hour to Marangu village where you will have opportunity of walking in Chagga people village. You will experience locally coffee making, traditional brews, traditional food and visit nearby water falls in the village. Then drive back to Moshi town.
MATERUNI WATER FALLS
This is a cultural tour in the vicinity of Moshi town. After breakfast drive for 40 minutes to Materuni village where you will have opportunity of walking in Chagga people village. You will experience locally coffee making, traditional brews, traditional food and visit nearby water falls in the village. Then drive back to Moshi town.
MAASAI BOMA
This is a cultural tour to Maasai community. After breakfast drive to Maasai Boma Olpoponji or Sanya Juu Maasai cultural village where you will have opportunity to experience Maasai dances, ornaments, traditional food and medicines. Then drive back to Moshi town.
LAKE CHALA
Lake Chala is a crater filled with water. This crater is about 2 hours’ drive from Moshi town. The lake is important geological link to Mt. Kilimanjaro. It draws its water through underground passages that originate from Mt. Kilimanjaro. This deep fresh water lake can be visited for pick nicks; walking along its edges for closer views, going down the crater for fishing or sightseeing then climb up to the edge. Part of this Lake is on Kenya. Then drive back to Moshi town.
CHEMKA-HOT SPRING
After breakfast drive to Rundugai village. There you will have opportunity to experience hot spring from underground water, swimming in the flow of lukewarm water and pick nick. Then drive back to Moshi town.
SHIRA PLATEAU
After breakfast drive to for about 3 hours to Londrosi gate at 2250 m for registration and payment. Four wheel drive vehicle is needed. From there continue driving to Shira plateau that is one of the most fascinating and scenic areas of Kilimanjaro. The plateau is a flat high altitude area connecting Kibo peak and Shira peak. A trip to there is important just for exploration of ridges, heath and moorland. There are also pick nick sites along the track where you can stop for looking around at the flowers or lunch. This track can lead you to nearby Shira II Camp at 3850 m which is day 2 for the Lemosho route. You can also visit Shira Cathedral. Spectacular views of Kibo peak, Summit, Western breach, Shira Cathedral Shira Plateau and Shira Needle. Then drive back to Londrosi gate for signing out after that drive back to Moshi town.
ZEBRA ROCK
Zebra rock is a rock that has white stripes like that of Zebra animal. After breakfast drive to Marangu gate at 1976 for registration and payment. Then drive by using a four wheel drive vehicle through Chagga villages, heath and moorland to Horombo hut at 3700 m. There you will have opportunity of walking around to Zebra rock for 30 minutes. Spectacular views of Mawenzi peak, Kibo peak, Saddle area, Giant Senecios, Lobelias and plenty of other flowers. Then go back to Horombo hut for drive to Moshi town.
ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, drive from Moshi town to Momella gate at 1500 m in Arusha for registration and payment. There are two options: either to have a game drive or walking safari with an armed ranger. What to see wildlife like Buffaloes, Giraffes, Zebras, Antelopes, Warthogs, a variety of birds. If you opt to have game drive you will also visit Momella Lake to see Flamingo birds, Ngurdoto Forest, Black and White Colobus Monkeys and Ngurdoto Crater. Then walk or drive back to the gate for signing out after that drive back to Moshi town.
TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast drive to Tarangire National Park gate for registration and payment. Then you drive through the park which is a sanctuary of Elephants and Baobab trees. Other wildlife to see is Leopards, Lions, Giraffes, Zebra, Antelopes, and Hyenas.
